Grab a real bargain with Young Drivers Insurance

If you are reading this then you have no doubt already realised that buying car insurance for anyone under the age of about 25 can be diabolically expensive. The problem is that drivers under this age, statistically, are much more likely to be involved in accidents than older drivers so many insurance companies will not touch them with a bargepole and those that do offer insurance to them calculate their risk carefully and priced the policy accordingly, which is a long-winded way of saying that they charge a lot for it! Realistically you are never going to get insurance for a young driver at the same sort of price that you will pay for a middle aged driver with an excellent driving record, but that does not mean to say that you cannot get the premium is reduced. If you look around and follow a pretty simple set of rules you should be able to get the quotations reduced by a very considerable sum indeed.

It's the first thing you need to do is to forget about going down to the High Street and buying a policy from your friendly neighbourhood insurance broker. For one thing the broker will have, almost certainly, any very restricted number of insurance companies that he or she can deal with. Secondly, your broker will charge you a very considerable sum in commission for arranging the insurance, which you will probably never notice since it will be hidden within the total premium! But you do need to do is to buy online, and even then you may find it better to avoid the insurance price comparison websites, which also charge a hidden commission, and deal direct with the insurance companies themselves. There are a large number of companies that deal specifically with young drivers insurance, and you are far more likely to get a reasonable quotation from companies like this, rather than normal run of the mill companies that probably don't really want that sort of business anyway.

the next thing to do is to pick a small, low powered and cheap car for your first means of transport!  Naturally this will be completely against the grain because you will probably want to have a flashy sports car to impress all and sundry with, but the simple fact is that the insurance for it would probably bankrupt you.  See if any company will give you a discount for accepting a considerable policy excess; insurance companies tend to view people who voluntarily accept large excesses as being safer drivers.  Finally, if you do have the bad luck to have a small bump, consider paying for it yourself.  Fair enough, insurance is there to cover you for this sort of thing, but you will almost certainly find that when the next premium is due it will have shot up by a very considerable amount indeed because you have already claimed for an accident.  This is yet another advantage of buying a cheap little runabout; cars like these often have a few little dents and scratches already so one or two more will not really make a great deal of difference!  Happy motoring.
